Let us talk about research ethics.
This story is about a scientist who has been working towards proving his research hypothesis. He has been researching for a long time, though the experiments showed results he did not expect. The scientist decides to falsify the data to make his hypothesis look proven.
The results look perfect now, and he chooses to publish them in an article. Later, a young scientist finds the article and decides to repeat the experiments. However, the data she gets do not coincide with the results shown in the article. Suspecting the scientist in falsification, she writes a letter to the journal’s editorial board. As a result, his publication is retracted from the journal, and his reputation is ruined.
